Announcement 19-0040: Requesting Appraisals without VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) Determination

June 6, 2019

Overview

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released guidance stating appraisals may no longer be requested through WebLGY prior to ordering the veteran’s Certificate of Eligibility (COE).  The COE is extremely important to ensure veterans are eligible for the VA loan benefit before ordering the appraisal.

Effective immediately, the VA requires that all Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) and Individual (IND) cases must have a COE in the “Active or Pending” status before an appraisal can be requested through the VA appraisal system (WebLGY).

Refer to the VA Circular 26_19_12 - Requesting Appraisals without the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) Determination for additional information.
